Our Divisions Explained
Read this to make sure you're in the right place.
Club Divisions (Non EXCA Divisions)
Rookie Rider - Beginner Riders aged 7+.Course will consist of 8 Beginner level obstacles.
Intro - Riders aged 7+. Riders or Horses who are new to the sport of extreme cowboy racing. Course will consist of 10 obstacles this course is designed to introduce riders to competition level obstacles.
PeeWee Pistols - Riders aged 4-7 can be lead line. Adults must be in the arena during runs. Course will consist of 6 beginner level obstacles.
EXCA Offical Divisions - Points are tracked in an EXCA member.
Young Guns - Riders aged 7 to 11. Course will consist of 8 obstacles.
Novice - Riders aged 18+. Course will consist of 10 obstacles suitable for riders who have limited horsemanship skills. These riders have had limited to no success in other equestrian events. Novice is a stepping stone class.
Intermediate - Riders aged 18+ Courses will consist of 13 obstacles that are designed to test the riders horsemanship. Intermediate riders display more confidence in their horsemanship. They are comfortable with all gaits and have some prior competition experience in either cowboy racing or other equine sports.
Youth - Riders aged 12-17. Course will consist of 13 obstacles.
Non-Pro - Riders aged 12+. Course will consist of 13 obstacles designed to challenge the riders with increased speed and precision. Riders are more confident with complex courses.
Ride Smart - Riders who are 55+ Courses will consist of 13 obstacles.
Pro - Riders aged 18+. This division is reserve for riders who gain financial benefit aside a horse. eg. trainers, breakers, some instructors.
Open - Riders aged 12+. Course consist of 13 obstacles ranging from different difficulty levels open to all divisions except young gun.
